samera zhang

Hi everyone! I am Samera Zhang, currently a junior in Westwood High school studying the IB curriculum. I can speak 4 languages: fluent in Chinese and English, adequate at French and Arabic. I moved to Austin, Texas mid October 2019, I’ve fell in love with the music and culture of this city ever since! I have one younger sibling, my younger brother is currently a freshman in high school! 

Whenever I’m free, I would always draw. I love sketching and playing music. I’ve played the piano for 10 years and passed the diploma grade in 2016! I also love making music with my brother, he plays the cello and we always play duets together. In between the years 2013-2017 I’ve won three global citizen awards out of the five that are given, I’ve also been a Tedx speaker and organizer. I’m also a part of the French honor society, HOSA, GirlUp, CodeGirls, Outreach and Chinese club. I am currently the Vice President of the Psychology club in Westwood high school, and also in the process of creating a Westwood Tedx event! In my free time I love reading and watching movies, my favorite movie (since 3rd grade) is Lord of the Rings!
