Hi! My name is Makoya Kourouma I’m 17 years old and I go to Austin High School! I was born and raised in New York City .I am first generation from Ivory Coast and Guinea. I have been playing soccer for 7 years and one of my favorite hobbies is talking walks :). Being from NYC and having so many African and African American women in my life has given me so much exposure to driven and outspoken women. Moving to Texas I saw that women of color were silenced in so many ways. The spark change project is an amazing opportunity for girls of color like myself to see how powerful we can be and how powerful we are when we find find our voice. I hope to make a change in my community and the world but I also want to learn an abundance of things. I am so excited for what is to come!!
