Case Manager at the Excellence and Advancement Foundation

Gabriella graduated Cum Laude from Colorado State University with a degree in Social Work where she was given the title of oustanding graduate. At CSU Gabriella become awakened to her own racial identity of being a Middle Eastern woman. 

Gabriella’s past experiences include being a facilitator for practicum, gave a presentation  in Social Work’s Dialogues around Difference series with a co presenter on the Arab and Muslim Experience in America before and after 9/11. She held meetings with the President and executives of CSU, to advocate for a mandatory class on dismantling privilege and oppression that  is open to all incoming students. She worked at Respite Care helping children and young adults with developmental disabilities as well as the Matthew House with at risk youth. 

Gabriella works now as a Case Manager at the Excellence and Advancement Foundation (EAF). She  is recognized as a co- conspirator and advocate who models anti-racism work, identity empowerment and leadership. Her role at EAF is to educate; facilitate difficult dialogues and challenge systems that neglect Black and Brown youth and parents. She is currently finishing her Masters in Social work with a concentration on Administration and Policy Practice at the University of Texas in Austin, and has two scheduled internships in Spring 2022 working with Mayor Pro -Tem Natasha Harper-Madison while transitioning into policy at EAF. She worked as a Spark Change mentor last year as well as giving a training in identity empowerment. She will continue to serve as a mentor for Spark Change this year. 

Gabriella wants to encourage and model to youth the power of utilizing one’s voice and to embrace one’s identity, to show up authentically and to confront prejudice through bravery and compassion as that is the birthplace for change.
